Matty Ice and Falcons scorched by Packers Red Hot Rodgers

Falcons Pro Bowl QB Matt Ryan earned the nickname ‘Matty Ice’ for being cool under pressure while guiding the Falcons to several comeback wins.
The young QB looked looked anything but cool as the Falcons were crushed by the Packers at home in the Dome 48-21, The loss abruptly ended what many (myself included) thought would be a magical flight to the Super Bowl for the Dirty Birds.  The 48 points scored by the Pack is their all time postseason high.

The Falcons started the game in typical fashion by causing a Packer fumble and quickly scoring. Later after Packers tie game. Pro Bowl KR Eric Weems electrified the home crowd with a record breaking 102 yd kickoff return for a TD. Falcons lead 14-7 and the Dome is rocking. From that point Green Bay outscored Atlanta 35-0 to take a commanding 42-14 lead.

 Aaron Rodgers played a flawless game. He repeatedly diced up the  up the Falcon secondary with accurate darts to his many offensive weapons. Rodgers stats were a near perfect 31-36, 3TDs, O Int for a 136.8 passer rating. His receivers led by Greg Jennings (8 rec-101 yds), were unstoppable.

The Packers gave the Falcons a dose of their own medicine. On defense a good pass rush, combined with the ability to cause turnovers. On offense long time consuming drives, doing what you do best (Pass), to impose your will on the opponent. Where do both go from here? For the Packers the journey continues to the NFC championship. Before all their injuries this is where most pundits thought they would be. For Atlanta it is home to think about an opportuinty lost, and what might have been
