The Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors were the 2 best teams in the NBA on 2018 by a good margin. Yes Toronto won 60 games as they won the East. The Celtics before Kyrie Irving’s injury looked dangerous in the East as did San Antonio in the West before they lost All Star Kawhi Leonard. And of Lebron and the Cavs were lurking. But Houston and Golden State were at the top the class. For Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and the Warriors the need to win this series is greater than Houston’s. Yes Chris Paul (CP3) is in the Conference Finals for the first time. And he and James Harden (The Beard) showed the two of could not only play together but win.
However Kevin Durant (KD) and Steph Curry are playing for their place in history. Another title this year would put them in rare group of teams to win 3 titles in 4 years and back to back crowns/ With the Rockets star CP3 hobbled by injuries they will be favored to win on the road. And if they advance they would face a Cavalier team that basically is Lebron James and the 7 dwarfs.
Now the Warriors’ are without the MVP of their 1st title Andre Igoudala. But still anything but an NBA championship for the Warriors would be a let down. Let’s see if Golden State’s two superstars can rise to the challenge.
