The San Antonio Spurs are playing for their playoff lives in the ultra competitive NBA Western division. Their opponent the Atlanta Hawks are (not) playing for a lottery pick. A mismatch? A blowout? Nope. Atlanta lead by their 2 young stars John Collins and Trae Young, plus strong play from their bench kept the game in doubt. They battled until the end before losing 111-104. Collins had another double, double with 18 points and 10 boards. Young cracked the 20 mark again with 22 points and dished out 6 assists. But Spurs C LaMarcus Aldridge was dominant inside pounding his way to 32 points and 9 rebounds. He also altered or blocked several Hawks shots in the paint.

Atlanta is 22-44 near the bottom of the NBA standings. Another loss, but yet a win as they look ahead to their position in the 2019 NBA draft. The Hawks are a team to watch. And they found the magic elixir. An entertaining way to make tanking… oops I mean the turnaround process look good.
